Communities of Invertebrates of the Cooling Pond of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Station. Report 1. Communities of Zooplankton, their Composition and Structure

Краткое описание

The structure of zooplankton communities in the cooling pond of the Chernobyl NPS was studied in 2002-2003 after its removal from service. A total of 12 communities of zooplankton differing in their composition, structure, in the complex of dominant species, and also in the quantitative indices of their development, was distinguished in the cooling pond. They included more than 50 species of invertebrates. During the period of investigations, zooplankton was represented by a larger number of species as compared to the period characterized by essential influence of heated waters on zooplankton development.
