The relationships between the dynamics of ammonic, nitrate, and nitrite nitrogen and planktonic algae development in the Dnieper reservoirs is analyzed. Negative (inverse) correlation between contents of NH⁺₄ and NO⁻₂ ions and phytoplankton biomass has been established. For NO⁺₃ ions this correlation can be either positive (direct) or negative (inverse).
