On Contour Structure of Biosphere

Yu. P. Zaytsev
Institute of Marine Biology National Academy of Sciences, Ukraine

Краткое описание

Development of the scientific heritage of V.I. Vernadsky showed that in his "life films" at the borders of hydrosphere with atmosphere and lithosphere, where the basic biogeochemical processes on Earth occurs, even more thin structures are located - contour biotopes with specific communities of contourobionts, which play a key role in functioning of the aquatic ecosystems and are highly sensitive to external impacts. They are called "environmental sentinels" and were proposed to be used in the environmental monitoring.
