POLYNOMIAL APPROXIMATION OF MOISTURE STORAGE FUNCTION OF CONCRETE FOR USE IN HYGROTHERMAL ANALYSES OF BUILDING COMPONENTS−METHOD AND COMPUTATIONAL TOOL
Краткое описание
In the context of the analysis of the hygrothermal performance of building components, moisture storage in building materials must be considered. The moisture storage curves of most mineral building materials are of the same form and shape, whereas the "typical" shape of these curves is differentiated for ordinary concrete. In this paper, the approximation of ordinary concretes' moisture storage functions by fifth degree polynomials, for relative humidity values usually encountered in building physics, is proposed. Additionally, a method and a computational tool for the determination of the appropriate fifth degree polynomial for each conventional concrete is presented. The determination of the appropriate polynomial for an ordinary concrete is based on only two parameters for this concrete: free saturation moisture content and moisture content corresponding to 80% air relative humidity. The proposed approximation method is validated with the use of experimental data that are available in the literature.
