We give a description of an experimental rig and of a technique used to investigate all the stages of a vapor explosion on interaction of a high-temperature melt of a thermite mixture with water. To measure the parameters of shock waves, pieso- electric transducers of pressure and tensometric transducers of the strain of the vessel walls are used. The acquisition and processing of information is made by means of fast ADT boards. To investigate the stage of premixing, a measuring system is used based on video filming of the process with the use of instrumental and program means of computer input and processing of images.
