Краткое описание

An experimental study has been carried out to investigate the thermal performance of a 2-row copper-R22 wraparound loop heat pipe heat exchanger (WLHPHE), embedded in an air handling unit (AHU). The influences of the filling ratio, air face velocity, and inlet air temperature on the sensible and total effectiveness are discussed, and a back propagation neural networks (BPNN) model is established to predict the effectiveness of the WLHPHE. The results show that the filling ratio is one of the most important factors in heat transfer characteristics. It is observed that the influence of the mass flow rate on the effectiveness is negative for the evaporator section. The experimental results show that the sensible and total effectiveness for the evaporator section are increased with increase of the inlet air temperature, and the inlet air temperature has a significant influence on the effectiveness in the subtropical and tropical zones. The sensitivity analysis shows that the filling ratio dominates the thermal performance of the WLHPHE. It is recommended that WLHPHE should be used for cooling and dehumidification enhancement in AHU, especially in the tropical and subtropical zones.
