COMPUTATIONAL THERMO-HYDRODYNAMIC STUDIES OF DILUTE GAS-SOLID FLOWS IN A HORIZONTAL PIPE USING A HIGHER VALUE OF SOLID VOLUME FRACTION
Краткое описание
In the present research, the thermo-hydrodynamic characteristics of two-phase, dilute gas-solid flows in a heated horizontal pipe are investigated. The Eulerian-Eulerian model with a four-way coupling is used to numerically find the overall pressure drop and the average Nusselt number. Commercially available software ANSYS 15.0 is used for this purpose. Simulations are carried out in FLUENT 15.0 software, which is a part of ANSYS 15.0 software. A higher solid volume fraction (SVF) of 0.1 with fine-sized solid particles is considered in the present research. The fine-sized solid particles are in the range of 20–80 microns. The computational results agree well with the available experimental results in the literature. The effects of parameters such as SVF, solid diameter, gas velocity, and solid density on the overall pressure drop and average Nusselt number are studied.
