Краткое описание

Numerical modelling of solid-liquid phase change has drawn a lot of attention in the past years due to its relevance in phase change materials, which are applied for reusing waste heat from industries and domestic applications. A computationally inexpensive approach for nonlinear enthalpy-temperature relation, namely, the general enthalpy approach, and a Darcy source term for solid velocity suppression are implemented to model solid-liquid phase change. The complete numerical model is implemented in OpenFOAM. Different formulations of the convective term in the energy equation are studied and the results are compared with experimental results (Gau and Viskanta, J. Heat Transf., vol. 108, no. 1, pp. 174–181, 1986).
