Optimal Profiles for Supercavitating Propeller Screws with Spoilers and Fixed Angle of Frontal Edge Taper

The analytical solution has been carried out to the two-dimensional (2D) nonlinear problem of a shock-free cavitating flow past a wedge with sides of unequal length and a spoiler at the trailing edge of the "lower" face. The Efros cavity closure scheme with a re-entrant jet was adopted. The obtained numerical results are compared with those of the corresponding linear theory. A new type of the supercavitating section is designed, having a wedge-like shape of the two-sided wetted forward part, a 2 % spoiler and a controllable thickness of the leading edge of the foil.
