A Preliminary Report on Aerophytic Cyanophyta and Algae of Norfolk Island, South Pacific Ocean

An annotated list is provided for 19 species of aerophytic algae collected from tree bark, decaying wood of logs and ground litter obtained during a survey carried out on Norfolk Island in June 2019. These algae and cyanobacteria are understudied groups in the South Pacific region of the Southern Hemisphere. Members of the cyanobacteria were the dominant group, represented by 16 species. In addition, three species of green algae were identified.
