Краткое описание

The article presents a retrospective of the formation and development of the algological school of Odessa University from its establishment in 1865 till 1965. The attention was paid to the founders of new scientific directions in algological studies in the university, creation and further development of schools and scientific ideas of its founders, training of new researchers in the field of phycology. The main areas of research are analyzed, the contribution of scientists who took part in the algological studies of the region is briefly described, and a bibliography of the main publications is given.
