Краткое описание

Species composition, density (N), and Shannon index of species diversity (H') of diatom communities occurring in summer as foulings on the shells of Mytilus galloprovincialis L. (from natural habitats in the Black Sea), as well as on the shells of Mytilus trossulus Gould (cultivated in the Sea of Japan at the depths of 0.5−0.6 m) were studied. 29 species and infraspecific taxa of diatoms with medium density (N = 25.9 · 103 cells/cm2) and low index of species diversity (H’ = 1.47) were found in the Sea of Japan. Synedra fasciculate (Ag.) Kütz. and Cocconeis scutellum Ehr. dominated at all depths. A total of 44 species of diatoms was found in the Black Sea; five species were dominants; H' = 3.48 and N = 56.2 · 103 cells/cm2. In total, 74 taxa of diatoms belonging to 35 genera were found. Six algal species were common to both areas of water. They included Ardissonia baculus (Greg.) Grun., Cocconeis scutellum Ehr., Cylindrotheca closterium (Ehr.) Reim. et Lewin, Grammatophora marina (Lyngb.) Kütz., Licmophora abbreviata Ag., and Trachyneis aspera (Ehr.) Cl.
