T1 Heat Transfer Downstream of Laminar, Transitional and Turbulent Flow Separations JF Heat Transfer Research JO HTR YR 1998 FD 1998-12-01 VO 29 IS 6-8 SP 362 OP 373 AB Experimental data are given for the velocity and temperature characteristics and for the structure of turbulence in the relaxation zone downstream of vari-ous-type separation for the case of low turbulence of the external flow Tue ≈ 0.2% and the velocity range Ue ≈ 5−10 m/s. The separation type (laminar, transitional or turbulent) is regulated by the external flow velocity, shape of the leading edge of the plate and length of an interceptor installed at the end of the working section of the wind tunnel. The experimental data attest to recovery of the dissimilarity of the internal structure and different rates of recovery of the hydrodynamic and thermal boundary layers in the relaxation zone.
