(Dinoflagellata, Dinophyta) in the Verbne Lake (Obolonskiy district, Kiev). It was found that the cells of this population were characterized by larger size than given in literature data for other localities. The following peculiarities of the cell structure were revealed: relatively small size of 1 plate and its distance from the apex; slight displacement of the cingulum (0.5 its width); curvature of the sulcus, more pronounced ornamentation of pre-cingular, post-cingular and antapical plates. Non-conformity of some P. apiculatus illustrations published by E. Lemmermann (1900) and R. Thompson (1950), which have been used earlier in determinative keys was concluded. For the correct identification of P. apiculatus we recommended drawings by M. Lefevre (1932), photos from recent publications (Hansen & Flaim, 2007; Craveiro et al, 2009), as well as original photographs and drawings. %8 2018-03-26
