A brief history of the main efforts to arrive at the present Lagrangian stochastic models is first presented. These models are based on the generalized Langevin equation. This equation is solved in a hybrid way since it uses both analytical and numerical methods. Then the principal model parameters and inputs, including the parameterization of the turbulence statistics, are discussed.
