Two different heat exchangers of the "gas-to-gas" type, one composed of evaporation−condensation elements (thermosyphons) and another composed of a conventional bundle of tubes, were analyzed. Mathematical expressions of the heat-transfer characteristics of specified heat exchangers that depend on the design and thermophysical characteristics of heat transfer have been obtained and analyzed. As a result of the analysis performed, dimensionless thermophysical and design factors that impact on the ratio of transferred heat fluxes have been found and the features of this impact have been discussed. The analysis demonstrated a significant advantage in heat transfer capability of heat exchangers of evaporation−condensation type in comparison with recuperative tubular heat exchangers. %8 2016-06-01
