In particular, each image is transformed into decimal ASCII data to obtain the moving picture. Emphasis is placed on the timewise variation of a high-luminous region inflames. Propane is used as a fuel and its velocity at the nozzle tip is varied from 17.8 to 35.5 m/s. It is found that (1) the turbulent diffusion flame has the high-luminous zone, and (2) the apparent flow velocity of the high- luminous region is approximately constant and is independent of the fuel velocity.
