Experimental Study on Heat Transfer during Evaporation and Condensation of Binary Mixtures Flowing Axially along the Outside of Tubes
Краткое описание
This paper is a report on the results of a heat transfer test, with refrigerant R114 and nonazeotropic mixtures (R114 + R152a and R114 + R12) evaporating or condensing during their flow along tubes on the shell side of a vertical shell-and-tube heat exchanger.
Mean heat transfer coefficients were measured over the entire heat transfer surface for an evaporator and three condensers. For both evaporation and condensation, experimental heat transfer coefficients were compared with empirical or theoretical correlations from previously published literature, developed for single-component fluids. Good agreements were obtained for pure Rl 14, although some discrepancies were observed for mixtures through these comparisons. Temperature variations along the flow were also measured, obtaining reasonably satisfactory results.
These results will serve as a basis for developing and improving the performance of heat exchangers dealing with nonazeotropic mixtures.
