Краткое описание

To simulate the thermal radiation behaviour of particle laden flows on the basis of a physical approach, a comprehensive computer program was developed for the thermal design of radiant zones of coal combustion or conversion systems. For the description of the governing effects of the particulate phase, i. e. absorption and scattering, the generally valid, but complex Mie-theory was integrated in the radiation code. To reduce the computational effort, larger particles can be treated with the geometrical optics approximation. With the help of these optical theories it is possible to calculate the radiative heat transfer rate for coal combustion systems that operate with higher particle loadings, especially circulating fluidized beds.
