Modelling and simulation of single- and multi-phase axisymmetric impinging jets
Краткое описание
The impinging jet is an industrially relevant geometry which provides a suitable test case since it contains a number of flow features turbulence models are known to predict poorly. A RANS turbulent flow model and an LES have been used to predict the continuous phase of an axisymmetric impinging jet and validated against experimental data, allowing the strengths and weaknesses of both approaches to be assessed. Using the continuous phase velocity field, particles are subsequently added as a post-process using a one-way coupled Lagrangian particle tracker. The effects of particle size are investigated as well as the sensitivity of the solution to the continuous phase turbulence field, with results from both predictive approaches compared.
