The present work deals with evaluating of a cylindrical solar water heater. A detailed theoretical approach has been conducted for predicting temperature development of water flow inside a cylindrical solar water heater. The outer surface of the cylindrical tube of the heater is exposed to solar radiation and wind stream. The radiation heat exchange with ambient is also taken into account. The energy balance equations for both the fluid and tube have been established separately. The physical parameters which govern the system are identified. Due to obtaining the influences of these parameters on fluid flow temperature, which is most significant factor in design of any water heaters, the governing differential equations have been solved for various values of the parameters. The theoretical predictions compare well with the experimental measurements noted in the previous literature. The influences of several parameters have been demonstrated through the non-dimensional parameters identified in the analysis.
