Краткое описание

The effect of a stationary gas slug on the hydrodynamics and heat transfer of downward liquid flow in a pipe was studied. Both time-averaged and fluctuational wall shear stress was measured around the gas bubble and behind its bottom. The wall shear stress around the bubble was shown to depend on the distance from the bubble nose and to be independent on the bubble length. The flow structure perturbation induced by a single bubble was recorded at the distance of more than 20 pipe diameters from the bubble bottom. Similarity between wall shear stress and heat transfer distributions was observed.
