Numerical simulation of the unsteady flow past a heated square cylinder
Краткое описание
This paper aims at doing a numerical study of the unsteady flow past a heated square cylinder. Differential Reynolds Stress Model (DRSM) Simulation and Scale Adaptative Simulation (SAS) are performed on a flow at a Reynolds number of Red = 3.25 × 104 and a prescribed wall temperature profile Tω resulting from experimental data. SAS model gives good improvement on dynamic and thermal aspect related to DRSM model. The flow is more destabilized and the resolved root mean square of velocity components are in quite good agreement with experimental data on the contrary to the DRSM model. DRSM and SAS both give a good prediction of the time and space averaged normal heat flux on the front wall of the square cylinder but overestimate it on the rear side, where SAS gives better results. The Strouhal number, the turbulent heat flux and the mesh dependance issues are also investigated.
