The purpose of the present paper is to present and analyze particle temperature and velocity statistics in a gas-solid channel flow for a large range of particle inertia in order to better understand particle heat transfer mechanisms. It is shown that there are similarities between the particle temperature and streamwise velocity. In order to show these similarities, particle temperature and velocity statistical moments, fluid statistics conditionally-averaged at particle location, and instantaneous particle distribution in the flow field are studied. In the last part, a PDF model is also assessed. It is shown that the model can give a satisfactory prediction when the particle inertia is not too high. The discrepancies are attributed to the assumptions made in order to use this model.
