The parameters of heat transfer by radiation : emissivity, reflectivity, complex indexes, are generally little known, and more particulary so in the area of infrared.
We submit methods of measurement in polarized light to obtain these parameters. The results were obtained on conductive or dielectric materials, solid or liquid, and applied to cases of thermal exchanges in solar absorbers. Lastly, we propose a new method of pyrometry providing directly the emissivity and true temperature of a surface.
