New Approach to the Problem of Subsurface Objects Detection Using Remote Sensing Technique
摘要
A problem of detecting near-surface buried objects has been studied. It was suggested that a group of objects randomly located near rough boundary was embedded into lossy medium. The correlation imaging function method has been applied. The study was oriented onto the processing of synthetic aperture radar images. Various weighting functions were studied to improve the signal-to-noise ratio and to determine the distance between objects and the separating surface. It has been found possible to significantly improve the ratio between the scattered signal from buried objects and the scattering from a rough boundary. The use of weighting functions allows to obtain the image of objects located under a rough boundary and having a small signal level. Processing of the scattered signal with special weighting functions makes it possible to determine with an acceptable accuracy the depth at which the inclusions are buried.
