PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT OF OSSB BASED ROF SYSTEMS INCLUDING THE EFFECT OF OPTICAL FIBER LENGTH AND FIBER CHROMATIC DISPERSION
摘要
This paper investigate the effects of non-linearities due to optical fiber length and fiber chromatic dispersion for optical single sideband (OSSB) based radio over fiber systems (RoF) by using intensity modulator, a dual-electrode Mach-Zehnder modulator (DE MZM). An analytical analysis is discussed that consider the effects of optical fiber length and fiber chromatic dispersion on detected input RF power and detected carrier-to-noise distortion ratio (DCNDR) of RoF systems. System performance can be enhanced by optimizing the intermodulation effect. A peak value of detected carrier to noise distortion ratio (DCNR) is obtained 92.8 dBm at 30 GHz input RF signal frequency. A considerable detected input RF signal power is resulted for measuring the performance of proposed system. All the analytical results are verified by simulations.
