MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMIC PERISTALTIC FLOW OF NANOFLUIDS IN A VERTICAL ASYMMETRIC CHANNEL FILLED WITH POROUS MEDIUM IN PRESENCE OF THERMAL RADIATION

摘要

This paper deals with a theoretical investigation of the peristaltic flow of nanofluids in a vertical asymmetric channel filled with a saturated porous medium in the presence of a transverse magnetic field and thermal radiation. The water-based nanofluid contains three different types of nanoparticles, namely copper, aluminum oxide, and titanium dioxide. The governing equations describing the flow are solved analytically. The influences of pertinent parameters on the velocity field, temperature distribution, shear stress, rate of heat transfer at the channel walls and streamlines are shown and discussed with the help of graphs. The fluid velocity profiles are parabolic with maximum magnitude occurring slightly right half of the channel centerline and minimum at the channel walls. This study finds applications in the field of magnetobio-fluid dynamics.
