ELECTROTHERMO CONVECTION OF ROTATING NANOFLUID IN BRINKMAN POROUS MEDIUM

摘要

Thermal convection in a horizontal layer of rotating nanofluid with vertical AC electric field in a porous medium is studied analytically. The Darcy-Brinkman model is used for the momentum equation. The model used for nanofluid incorporates the effect of Brownian diffusion, thermophoresis, and electrophoresis. The flux of volume fraction of a nanoparticle is taken to be zero on the isothermal boundaries. Using linear stability theory, an expression for the Rayleigh number is obtained for both stationary and oscillatory convection in terms of various nondimensional parameters. The effects of the rotation, AC electric Rayleigh number, Lewis number, concentration Rayleigh number, modified diffusivity ratio, and porosity on the stability of the system has been investigated for the stationary convection. Rotation is found to stabilize while AC electric Rayleigh number destabilizes the stationary convection. The effect of various parameters on the stationary convection is also presented graphically.
