摘要

COVID-19 has created intense moral and economic challenges for individuals and policy makers. There are many moral theories in circulation today that might shed light on the best path forward. While each of them has merit, modified deontology is the most promising. Based on a careful understanding of human rights theory, and incorporating the best insights of the other theories, it allows us to affirm and protect human health, prosperity, and freedom, all at the same time.
