The investigation object was a heat transfer process at propane pool boiling on single horizontal tubes with porous coating and in metal ceramic structures of heat exchanger evaporators with channels for vapour evacuation. Porous coatings were applied by electric arc gas-thermal spraying (stainless steel) or sintering of metal powder particles (copper), structures of evaporator with steam exhaust channels were produced by hydrothermal synthesis technology of aluminium oxide ceramic.
Experiments were carried out in the saturation pressure ranges p=3.45·105 to 13.8·105 Pa (p/pc=0.081 to 0.323), temperature intervals 263-313 K, and heat flux ranges 102 to 105 W/m2. The dependence of boiling process on saturation pressure and the influence of porous coating parameters on heat transfer intensity were studied. The results of research show that an application of metal porous electric arc gas-thermal sprayed covering allows one to increase significantly (3-5 times as high in the region heat loads q"<8·103 W/m2, and 2.5-3 times in the region of heat fluxes q">8·103 W/m2) the heat transfer intensity for propane boiling as compared with a polished surface. For samples with sintered copper powder structure heat transfer coefficients were 8 times as high than on a smooth tube at heat flux up to q"=104 W/m2, and 6 times at q">104 W/m2. The paper reviews of works by a number of investigators dealt with heat transfer at boiling on surfaces with porous coating. The description of experimental set-up, procedure of propane pool boiling heat transfer research are presented.
The results obtained can be applied in the chemical industry, refrigerator engineering, electronics, etc.
