Surface Reactions during Immersion Quenching of Metallic Parts
pages 563-572
摘要
The cooling process of metallic objects quenched in liquids with a low boiling point is shortly described. Different surface reactions as they occur during immersion quenching of Ag-specimen in water, oil and aqueous solutions of polyethylene oxides are shown and their effect on the temperature-time-curve is discussed. Possibilities to influence the cooling power of a certain aqueous solution of polyethylene oxides(Fluid A) were investigated. The results and their effects on steel-hardening are presented.
