PROPERTIES OF COMBINED GRATINGS IN DIFFRACTION RADIATION ANTENNAS

ABSTRAKT

The investigation and development of diffraction radiation antennas is promising areas of the millimeter and submillimeter antenna engineering. Implementation of antennas of this kind in the design of devices and complexes of various applications requires developing new techniques for the directional pattern formation. The present study is oriented toward justifying experimentally the suggested technique for obtaining antenna patterns of complex form due to combining properties of the upright and slant combs. The radiation characteristics of these combs are compared and the selection of the slant comb parameters is grounded. The measured directional patterns of the antenna with the combined comb confirm the adequacy of the selected technique. The obtained results contribute essentially to the familiar properties of the antennas and verify their applicability in the surface survey systems of different applications.
