ABSTRAKT

Results of comprehensive studies on abiotic and biotic components of the ecosystems of the Denishi and Otsechnoye reservoirs of the Teterev River are given in the paper. The main attention was paid to the study of pH, dissolved oxygen concentration, suspended matter content, and water coloration, and also to the study of the peculiarities of migration and distribution of such chemical elements as Si, Al, Fe, Ti, and Cu. The structure (taxonomic diversity, numbers, and biomass) and ecological and geographic characteristics of phytoplankton were also investigated. Relationship was established between phytoplankton development and pH, O2, and Si. Results of the study of the content and forms of metals occurrence suggest that the environmental conditions in the Teterev River are favorable to the development and vital activity of phytoplankton.
