ABSTRAKT

The present work concerns the micropolar fluid flow through a porous cylinder enclosing a solid cylindrical core under an externally applied uniform magnetic field in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the cylindrical shell. Governing equations of micropolar fluid are expressed in modified Nowacki form for flow through a porous shell. Analytical expressions for the stream functions, velocity components, microrotations, and couple stresses are obtained for both regions. A new result for the drag force experienced by the porous circular cylinder is reported. Variations in the drag force, velocity, and microrotations are presented graphically and discussed for different values of flow parameters.
