Entropy Generation in the Porous Layer and the Condensate Film
ABSTRAKT
Entropy generation in thermal systems provides information on thermodynamic irreversibility associated with the system. In the present study, entropy generation in the porous layer and the condensate film flowing vertically due to forced convection is investigated. Entropy generation rate is formulated using the previously formulated velocity and temperature fields. Entropy generation is computed for different porous layer thicknesses and two permeability values of the porous medium. It is found that entropy generation in the vertical direction reduces significantly at a large porous layer thickness (H* = 0.5).
