ABSTRAKT
Transgender patients experience disparities in the clinical setting due to a lack of cultural safety and clinical understanding. This lack of safety should be addressed by all clinicians, particularly nurses, who are often at the front line of caring for marginalized populations including trans patients. Developing skilled ethical care requires increasing the importance of patient narrative, decreasing harassment and denial of care as well as developing clinical expertise specific to this patient population.
