ABSTRAKT

The paper presents recent trends in the development of prediction methods for multiphase flows based on the one-fluid formalism coupled with different interface tracking algorithms. Attention is focused on the following challenges: the development of robust schemes capable of identifying interfaces in complex configurations, and simple means for the modelling of inter-phase heat and mass transfer. Both items are addressed below, supported by a few examples reflecting recent progress drawn from the current work of the authors.
