ABSTRACT
Long-term dynamics of hydrochemical indices in the Kiev Reservoir were investigated. They included dissolved solids content, the concentration of the main ions and inorganic forms of nitrogen and phosphorus, and organic matter content in terms of dichromate and permanganate oxidizability. It has been found that at the present time in the water of the reservoir the content of inorganic nitrogen (especially of nitrate) and N : P ratio decrease. Comparative analysis of the obtained results and literature data has shown that at the present time phosphorus does not limit the development of primary producers.
