ABSTRACT
Necessity is substantiated of the multilateral and purposeful assessment of the aquatic ecosystems status by means of characteristics of their structural and functional organization, including biota and biotopes, mainly by diversity indexes, mechanisms of water quality and cenosis productivity formation. Suggested concept of the aquatic ecosystems' status assessment is based on material of the long-term studies of the technogenically modified and protected surface water bodies of Ukraine.
