ABSTRACT
Degenerative disk disease is a common cause of low back pain with challenges in diagnosis and treatments. We present a review of degenerative disk disease including anatomy, pathogenesis, diagnosis, and an overview of minimally invasive intradiscal procedures. We will cover a variety of procedures including discography, intradiscal electrothermal therapy, intradiscal biacuplasty, radiofrequency annuloplasty, automated percutaneous lumbar discectomy, percutaneous lumbar laser discectomy, and nucleoplasty.
KEY WORDS: disk disease, intradiscal procedures, degenerative, minimally invasive procedures, spine care, discography, intradiscal electrothermal therapy, intradiscal biacuplasty, radiofrequency annuloplasty, automated percutaneous lumbar discectomy, percutaneous lumbar laser discectomy, nucleoplasty
