ABSTRACT

Algae flora of inundated floodplain lakes of the Lena River basin was investigated for the first time. A comparative analysis of algae taxonomic structure from the floodplain lakes and those located in the area of fluvial terrace above the floodplain including some part of the middle Lena was carried out. The peak of species diversity of algae in the floodplain lakes was recorded in the period of maximal temperatures of water at the end of July and in early August. Recorded high similarity of the species composition of algae both in the floodplain and river, apparently, is caused by an influx of algae into the river during floods. Composition of algae of studied lakes sufficiently differs from those of lakes situated upper-stream of the middle Lena fluvial terrace.
