ABSTRACT

Species composition and abundance of bacteria accompanying Scenedesmus acutus Meyen (strain IBASU-A 251) have been studied. Unialgal culture of this species is used as a test object in performing experiments on aquatic toxicology. Representatives of the genera Flavobactehum, Acinetobacter, Microbacterium, Curtobacterium, and Rhodococcus have been found. Their characteristics are given. Dynamics of the numbers of populations belonging to different groups of bacteria permanently accompanying the algal species concerned during the process of its growth and development are shown. It has been found that the complex of dominant bacterial species changes under the influence of toxic compounds (nitrosodimethylamine, ethylendiamines, and sulpholignins). These data may be used as additional criteria in carrying out bioassay.
