A comparative study of different methods for heat transfer enhanced by the use of TVG
ABSTRACT
An experimental measurement technique has been developed for determining the heat transfer data on rib-roughened surfaces. Two experimental techniques were employed in the research. Firstly, the transient liquid crystal technique was used to determine the distribution of surface temperature and subsequent evaluation of hest transfer coefficient. Secondly, the numerical method was employed to study the flow pattern and heat transfer based mainly on three dimensional flow simulations using CFD code, FLUENT 6.3 (suitably adapted). The obtained data has been also compared to results presented in previous studies by authors and good agreement is found.
