MUTUAL COUPLING BETWEEN ANTENNAS USED AS ELEMENTS OF A PHASED ANTENNA ARRAY FOR THE DECAMETRIC WAVE RADIO TELESCOPE
SINOPSIS
The paper addresses a numerical analysis of mutual impedances between two irregularly shaped wire dipole antennas located over the earth surface, which are used for building an ultrawideband phased antenna array (PhAA) incorporated in new Ukrainian low-frequency radio telescope GURT. All the calculations were performed with the electromagnetic modeling method using the well-known NEC2 software based on the method of moments. The calculation results are presented graphically in the form of dependencies of normalized mutual impedance and mutual radiation resistance on the distance between radiators for different frequencies at the range of 10–70 MHz. It is shown that at the lower part of this range, the behavior of mutual impedances of studied radiators at the frequency variations is practically indistinguishable from that of Hertzian electric dipoles. The obtained results can be useful for specialists engaged in the research and design of wideband antenna arrays of decameter wave range.
