SINOPSIS
On the basis of statistical analysis of DNA chromosomes, the order of Markov model is determined by resolving hypotheses using the χ2-criterion. It is confirmed, that a homogeneous chain in the best way matches data accumulated in DNA chromosomes. Ergodic properties of DNA and protein sequences are studied. It is demonstrated, that long proteins are described by homogeneous Markov chains.
