SINOPSIS

Production indices of higher aquatic plants (phytomass of the main communities, phytomass storage per unit area of thickets, and annual production) were investigated in the section of the Vorskla River near the town of Poltava. The degree of landscape urbanization was quantitatively assessed in terms of its influence on the river. It has been shown that the sections with a high degree of landscape urbanization were characterized by essential fluctuations in macrophytes production conditioned by structural transformations in their communities.
