SINOPSIS

The impact of tannin on the chlorophyll a and carotenoids content and lipid peroxidation intensity in the cells of Cyanoprokaryota (Microcystis aeruginosa, Anabaena cylindrica and Phormidium autumnale f. uncinata) and Chlorophyta (Tetraedron caudatum and Desmodesmus brasiliensis). The considered algae displayed individual reaction to the tannin presence in the medium. It was shown that green algae are more resistant to the influence of tannin as compared with Cyanoprokaryota. In most cases, tannin of concentration of 1.0 mg/dm3 in the medium stimulated the microorganisms' functioning, whereas concentration 5.0 mg/dm3 and above depressed it.
