SINOPSIS
Three following periods were distinguished in the Krasnoyarsk Reservoir in 2000−2009: with low, middle, and high water levels. The largest number of phytoplankton species and infraspecific taxa (193) was found at a middle water level. Cyanophyta gave way to Bacillariophyta, which is indicative of the decrease in the trophic level of the reservoir. In terms of phytoplankton biomass and saprobic index, water quality in the reservoir corresponds to the third class and β-mesosaprobic zone.
