Experimental Investigation of Frequency Self-Stabilization of Diffraction Radiation Oscillators
RÉSUMÉ
In the open resonators of the diffraction radiation oscillators along with modes having one co-phase spot of the field, there are observed the occurrence of excitation of higher modes which create several spots of the field along movement of electron beam. Electron beam flowing through such a chain of variations of the field becomes into velocity dispersion with formation of a set of spatial charge modes. It is demonstrated that disintegration of electronic beam into the set of simultaneously existing modes of the spatial charge can result in the increase of stability of the oscillator frequency in one case, and in excitation of the oscillator in the multifrequency mode in other cases. It is determined the interrelation between the oscillator frequency stability and the misalignment stability and the velocity of electrons and the phase velocity of a synchronous wave.
